Sign PDF in your browser

There are two ways to sign a PDF. A drawn signature is a picture of your handwriting on the page: draw it, or place an image of it. A digital signature is cryptographic: it records who signed, with a certificate, and PDF readers can check that nothing has changed since.

Use a certificate issued to you, or create a self-signed one on the Sign page. Your certificate and its password are used on your device and are never uploaded, signed in or not.

Questions about Sign PDF

What is the difference between drawing and a digital signature?

A drawn signature is a picture of your handwriting on the page. A digital signature is cryptographic: PDF readers can check who signed and whether anything changed afterwards.

Do I need a certificate to sign?

Only for a digital signature. You can use one issued to you, or create a self-signed one on the Sign page. Drawing a signature needs nothing.

Is my PDF or certificate uploaded?

Not unless you sign in. Signed out, your file is opened by OnePDF inside your browser, on your own device, and is not uploaded to any server. Signed in with a TensorActivity account, the files you open are also saved to your account, encrypted, so they are there on every device you sign in to. Your certificate and its password are never uploaded, signed in or not.
